My Kids

I just wanted to put a picture or two of my kids.  I sure adore them, so why shouldn't everyone else get to.  Grant has just started to really enjoy books.  He will go get his books out of his closet and come bring them to you and then back up into your lap.  I took this picture the other day when I came around the corner and saw them both laying on the ground and Ali reading to Grant.  I thought they were precious.  The other one is of Grant getting to go bye-bye.  That is all he wants to do these days and he gets so excited to go out the door and get in the car.

random photos

I know I haven't posted since Christmas, but I have been busy.  So I decided I better throw some pictures on here for Grandma.  For some reason I didn't take many pictures while we were on vacation, but  here are a few that I did take.

Ali got to go skiing for the first time when we were in southeast Idaho.  She had a better attitude than I expected for the first time skiing.  There weren't any tears and she even asked to go again, but we couldn't go because we were so busy.

Grant got to go out and play in the snow.  He loved sledding and liked to see the snowflakes.

This is Danny enjoying his new bike helmet.  I guess it is too cold to ride so he has to wear it while he eats his dinner.

Merry Christmas!!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year and have plenty more still to come.   We are going to head down to southeast Idaho to spend a week with family.  But this was the first year we have spent Christmas at our own home.  It was really nice.  We went to a friends house and had a really nice Christmas eve dinner and then we came home to some pj's on our front porch.  That elf found us once again this year and the kids were excited to get to open a present before we headed to bed.

Then we were up bright and early Christmas morning (5am) to open presents.  Santa found us, and the kids and Daniel and I all got spoiled, as always!  We spent the day just lazily laying around and playing with all our new presents.  It was really nice not to have to pack up and go visit all of our family on Christmas day.  Then in the evening we went over to another friends house and got to join in their traditional Christmas crab feast.  It was really good and really fun and so nice to leave my MESSY house and enjoy their beautiful home.

So now today I have a huge mess to clean and lots of stuff to pack up, but it was all worth it and we had a wonderful Christmas!

Finally an update!

Sorry I have been really lazy lately when it comes to blogging.  I feel like nothing new has been happening here, so I didn't want to just post to post.  But I have been getting many people complaining from home that I haven't posted anything.  So here is my post about nothing.  We are all wrapped and ready for Christmas here.  Ali is getting spoiled one more time.  Every year is the same for us.  We start buying in November and just keep buying and buying.  I tease that I am on round 3 of Christmas.  Round one was on all the after Thanksgiving Day sales that you just can't pass up but don't really NEED(which we spent way too much), round 2 was all the thoughtful gifts that we wanted to surprise each other with, and then round 3 is the last minute shopping for stuff we tell each other that we really wanted and haven't bought yet.  So we are all spoiled and are getting way too much for Christmas!

I went to the bathroom this morning and came out to find Grant had helped himself to a little snack.  He has been pretty good not to get into my cupboards that much, but today I guess he was hungry.  He got into my cupboard, dumped out the loaf of bread, found some Tupperware and a spoon and was having a hay day.   I figured he had already made the mess so I let him play and eat for a little bit.  I can't get him to eat lately, so I didn't stop him.  In this picture he was making the sign for "more".  I don't know what he wanted more of, maybe a drink to wash it down.

Lost a tooth

Ali lost her first tooth this morning with a little help from Grandpa Brent.  Her front two teeth have been really loose and we talked her into letting Grandpa trick it out.  She said it didn't hurt, but the minute she saw the blood she got light headed and sick.  We tried talking her into letting Grandpa trick the other one too, but no such luck.  She isn't going to be fooled twice!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

For Family Home Evening this week we went to a little park in town that is all set up with fun Christmas lights and music.  We enjoyed walking around and getting into the Christmas spirit.  Ali's favorite part every year is the big giant pad that has different sensors to lights up on a big tree.  So when you step on different parts of the mat different lights light up.  They have music and you dance on the pad and it is fun.

Danny enjoyed messing around on the sensor pad too!

Walking?

Grant is finally starting to try to walk.  Grandma asked for some video of him trying so here you go.  Hopefully he will be doing better when they get her next week to see him in person.
