So happy!

So when we were visiting at home last weekend I didn't take any pictures except for this one with Grant and his cousin Corgin.  I loved it.  Why can't we all be a little more excited about the little things in life?

Happy Birthday, Ali!

Today is Ali's 6th birthday.  She has been waiting and waiting for it to finally come.  We had a birthday pool party for her yesterday.  It was the best day for a party by the pool, 95 degrees.  She got SPoiLED rotten, like usual, but what do you expect when you have such a good little girl.  She had to have a new suit for the party and we got some fun pool toys, I think everyone had a good time.  This morning she got to open her presents from her family and dress up in her new dress for school.  Later today Mom and Grant are going to take some McDonalds to her school and eat lunch with her and play at recess with her.  Then after school we are going to pile in the car and drive to grandma's in Pocatello.  It is a long drive on her birthday, but that is why we partied yesterday.  We have to get Danny to some CE in Idaho Falls this weekend and we wanted to tag along and party some more with family.

More of Grant

Grant in his new duds and haircut

Grant has been our little puppy dog the past few weeks.  He puts everything in his mouth and then crawls around with them.  If you leave it laying around it is free game.  He also was trying to lap up his bath water this morning.  What do ya do except smile?

Grant has also become quite the ball player.  He will sit and play catch with us.  I have decided he is going to be right handed though because he always puts the ball in his right hand to throw it.  Sorry Dad, no south paw here.

PeAcHes!

This is the first year that we have gotten peaches off of our peach tree.  After a lot of tender loving care, we finally got something out of it.  Last year we pruned and nursed all of our trees back to life, and planted a garden.  The deer got every last piece of my garden and the trees didn't do much (the birds did leave us a few cherries).  This year I didn't waste my time on a garden, but we got cherries, peaches, grapes, and some blackberries off of the neighbors bush.  My favorite fruit is the peach so I was most excited to receive peaches.  We ate fresh peaches, put them on our cereal, made desserts out of them and then I decided we had too many.  So I started making jam and had to take 3 different trips to the store to get pectin and containers because I had no clue I would be able to make that much jam.  I made 6 batches of jam and still had some peaches left over to cut some up and freeze for fresh peaches in the winter.  

These are my 6 batches of jam.  I even had a couple jars of blackberry/peach which Ali has decided it's her favorite!

Nothing new

We haven't really been doing much, but thought I would post a couple of pictures.  Ali and Grant's new thing is the doll stroller.  Ali was helping me watch Grant while I painted some cabinets.  She came out of the bedroom with Grant in the doll stroller and they were both grinning from ear to ear.  They both feel all "big" with him in the little stroller and have fun, so I let them do it.

This is a picture of Ali going to school in the 90 degree weather.  She got new shoes and new clothes and was determined to wear them no matter what!

Memory Lane

Everyone always tells me how much Grant looks just like Ali.  I do agree that they both look a lot like their dad, but today I thought I would pull some pictures out of Ali at 9 1/2 months just like Grant.  So this is what I came up with.  I do see some resemblances, but there are some big differences, mainly HAIR!  Ali didn't have any hair and so we would always say she had such big beautiful eyes to make up for it.  Well, look at Grants winkers!  Ali has grown up to be a beautiful girl so I know that Grant will be pretty darn cute too.  And just to be fair I included pictures of Danny and me 5 years ago too, there is definitely some aging on our part too!

1st Day in the 1st Grade

Ali started the first grade today!  So now I'm back to just one kid at home with me.  Everyone keeps asking me what I'm going to do with all of my free time and I want to tell them that I will have less time than I did before.  Ali is my good little babysitter who keeps Grant entertained and will keep an eye on him while I clean or stuff like that.  Today Grant decided he wanted to be a full blown mama's boy now that sister is gone.  He threw a little fit when I left him with his dad while I took Ali to school and then all day he just whines mama with his arms out for me to hold him.  So it sounds like Grant is going to have a harder transition than me!

Anyway, Ali is in a combined 1st and 2nd grade class and is really excited.
